Crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail, the Rick Holets Music Studio is a constantly evolving sandbox of music, sound, and imagination. In a field that grafts art and technology together, we work hard to put the best tools of the trade at your disposal.
At the backbone of the studio is a high-powered Digital Audio Workstation. In addition to handling audio and video processing, this machine serves as the host for over a Terabyte of high quality sampled library content, ranging from heavy electronic synths to realistic orchestral instruments.
High fidelity monitoring is essential for creating music that sounds good on everything from the iPod to the Cinema. In addition to utilizing quality monitoring equipment, our control room is methodically treated with broadband acoustic paneling and bass traps to create an environment of acoustic accuracy and clarity.
When it comes time to kick things up a notch, take advantage of our arsenal of tools and in-house talent to add live instrumental performances to a score. Nothing can match the emotion and humanity of a real musician coaxing melodies out of a vibrating hunk of wood!
Rick Holets is an independent Christian film and media composer from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he works and lives with his beautiful wife and daughters.
In addition to writing music, Rick also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico Tech and works with Solidworks modeling and 3D printing.
Rick scribbled the score for his first original piece of piano music at age 8. It was the beginning of a consuming love for creating and performing music. His experience includes 12 years of classical piano instruction, self directed studies in improvisation and music theory, and even some time spent playing guitar and mandolin in the Desert Skies folk band. Rick's studio contains a menagerie of instruments; he'll try to play anything at least once!
Though he enjoys the performance aspects of music, Rick's lifelong passion has been for film scoring. In 2010, Rick composed music for his first short film.
Other projects and opportunities followed as Rick devoted himself to becoming expert in all aspects of film composing. His goal is to realize ever-higher standards of artistic excellence and to compellingly communicate truth and beauty in music he creates.
When he is not in the studio working on a new project, Rick likes to spend his time biking, building things, and enjoying his family. He is open about his faith as a Christian and is constantly amazed to find that as he explores more of the world, it points his heart ever increasingly to God.
